By bike

Arriving into the Soča Valley is most difficult from the north side, somewhat ea sier from the east and west sides and easiest from the south. From Ljubljana, you can reach us:

Through Predel (ITA): Ljubljana-Kranj-Kranjska Gora-Trbiž-Predel-Bovec-Kobarid
Through the Vršič mountain pass (1611): Ljubljana-Kranj-Kranjska Gora-Vršič-Bovec-Kobarid
Through Baška Grapa: Ljubljana-Škofja Loka-Železniki-Most na Soči-Tolmin-Kobarid
Through Cerkno: Ljubljana-Škofja Loka-Kladje-Cerkno-Most na Soči-Tolmin-Kobarid
Through Idrija: Ljubljana-Vrhnika-Logatec-Idrija-Most na Soči-Tolmin-Kobarid

From Italy:
Gorica-Nova Gorica-Tolmin-Kobarid
Udine-Robič border crossing-Kobarid

You can easily combine train travel with cycling:
From Ljubljana: (train) Ljubljana-Jesenice-Bohinjska Bistrica-Most na Soči. From there through Tolmin to Kobarid.

By car or motor home

By car, the access routes are the same as "By bicycle." By motor home, the most difficult route is through Baška Grapa because there are many narrow sections and possibilities for overtaking are scarce. Since these routes are popular with cyclists, be particularly aware of them. Take a look at information about current road conditions and car rental options.

By bus

The fastest connections: Ljubljana-Idrija-Tolmin-Kobarid and Nova Gorica-Tolmin-Kobarid. The most scenic and dynamic route is: Ljubljana-Kranjska Gora-Vršič-Bovec-Kobarid. Click here for more information regarding connections and possible transfer routes.

By train

The fastest connections: Ljubljana-Jesenice-Bohinjska Bistrica-Most na Soči and Ljubljana-Sežana-Most na Soči. From Most na Soči you can take a taxi or request the Hotel Hvala transfer. Click here for more information regarding connections and possible transfer routes.

By plane

To the Jože Pučnik Ljubljana Airport (SLO) and from there make use of the above options or use Hotel Hvala's direct transfer option.
To the Venice Airport (IT) and from there to Trieste or Udine where you can make use of the above options to Kobarid or request Hotel Hvala's direct transfer option.

To the Treviso Airport (IT) and from there the same as described from Venice Airport.

To the Trieste Airport - Ronchi (IT) and from there to Kobarid as described above.

To the Klagenfurt Airport (AUT) and from there through Ljubljana or Udine to Kobarid.
